MEET ELINE
Even with Chronic Illness, I live a happy, joyful and free life. Wanna find out how I got to this point? Then continue reading!
I had 2 accidents within 4 years
Yep, I had. Don’t ask me how, cause I really have no clue. But it happened and I had to learn how to deal with the consequences.
The accidents left me with 2 diagnoses. One of them is known as the most painful disease out there.
It’s called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (or CRPS). The second one is called Functional Neurological Disorder (or FND).
These disorders limit me in many ways in my daily life. Not only visible, also invisible.
Yet ever since, I have been on a mission to “live well”. Wíth the chronic illnesses and limitations. And I think I am doing pretty damn well at that job!
So now it is time for me to share and connect with all of you. I want to empower you with the tools to get to a similar stage.
This can be done in 2 different ways. If you’re feeling “YES” straight away, why don’t you check out my 1:1 The Healing Whisper program.
I also know the importance of a community in this search, hence why I’ve built a membership community where I use the “power of community” with loads of incredibly strong and powerful people: like yourself.
Welcome to The Spoonies Community

And WHO KNOWS, maybe you are even able to dream about the future again!
This is My Story
NYE 2018-2019, Harrogate, England. A night I won’t forget anymore. Ever.
An innocent fall with my fiancé, ended in a triple ankle fracture. I needed surgery, because of the complexity of this fracture.
After waking up, I immediately felt something was wrong. I was in an extreme amount of pain and my leg looked like a stranger’s leg to me.
The next part entails many doctor visits, therapy sessions, wrong diagnoses, endless amounts of fainting & vomiting, PTSD, so much insecurity, a move of country, a loss of my job, and much more. But let me fast forward to 2 years down the line.
I finally found a neurologist who could tell me “what was wrong”. He diagnosed me with the neurological disorder: Complex Regional Pain Syndrome: one of the most painful diseases out there. And unfortunately, one without a known cure.
However, after being sent to a rehabilitation clinic and train for months, things actually went uphill. The pain changed, I was able to waddle indoors without mobility aids. Outside I used a wheelchair for longer walks and crutches for shorter walks.
You know how the Dutch love to cycle, so being back at my physio after the rehabilitation center, I started to practice this again!
You won’t believe what happened next….
I fell off my bike. Again.
8 broken bones, in the same leg. I had to start all over again. The pain flared back into extreme-pain mode, I lost full mobility in my leg and I gained some new symptoms: uncontrollable full body spasms.
Speaking to the doctors, they agreed it to be Functional Neurological Disorder: another Neurological Syndrome.
Why am I telling you this whole story?
Cause I want to show you that those feelings of loneliness, insecurities about the future and living from hospital appointment to hospital appointment, is normal. I’ve had them as well for such a long time. And I want you to know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE
“I have never felt so alone in my entire life”
It was like I was the only person in the world that went through something like this, at my age. I was scared, insecure, a shell of who I once was.
Until I began to connect with other people with chronic illnesses online. I started sharing experiences & asking questions. The right coaches came along, making me learn about my physical, mental and emotional boundaries, pushing them lovingly. I learned many tips & tricks from people within the community and started to learn to love myself again, including my chronic illnesses. Without wishing them away.
And slowly but surely I got out of my shell, I found a little spark again, I started to grow confidence and getting to know my new-me. I even started my own company, The Spoonies Community, which I would have never expected to do before (I thought I’d never be able to work again!). Yes, it is on my terms. But there is nothing wrong with that.
The power of community should never be underestimated: feeling seen, feeling heard, feeling empowered, all comes from the feeling that you belong. And you do belong.
And since we are talking about getting to know a “new-me”

Who Is The Spoonies Community For?
Yes, yes, yes, this is YOU:
✅ You are looking for a place where you can be 100% yourself and are willing to show up as your 100% self (yes even if that means in your PJ’s with a big bun on your head, not having had a shower in days. Cause that is how I show up!)
✅ You feel that there is more for you than where you’re currently at. There is always a different way and you know it. We just have to find out what way works for you.
✅ You feel like you lost a part of yourself along the way and are looking for a place of belonging, so you can grow confidence and be your sparkly you again
✅ You want to connect with people who truly understand you (so no comments like, “oh yeah, I 100% know how you feel, I also get tired after a busy day.” OK bye).
We cannot help you:
❌ People who are judging, bullying or talking sh*t about others. No, there is no space for you
❌ People with a fixed mindset who believe that their lives, feelings and emotions are NEVER able to change
❌ People who say they have the “magic cure” or a “quick fix” or a “promise I will make you better”. No, no, you are not welcome.
❌ People who’s go-to answer is ‘No’ / ‘I won’t do it’ / ‘I don’t believe/want/be open to it’
